Matt, Shae
and Dari have changed since my dear friend
Susan Jewells was first diagnosed with
cancer in September of 2004. Of course
cancer has a way of doing just that,
changing lives. As their campaign to be
“part of the cure” continued to grow, so too
did Matt, Shae and Dariana. Matt and Shae
are now teenagers and Dari is right behind
them. It is not just the passing years that
mark their growth however; it is the content
of those years. They have participated in
many public events, addressed the media on
more than one occasion and received the
Deborah Winters’ Foundation, LIFE Spirit
Award for 2007. As their knowledge of
cancer and its effects expands with
“Bookmarks for MOM”, so does their desire to
help. Cancer has a way of changing lives
The
cancer was in Susan’s body, but She is
now a part of ours, forever in our hearts.
